I did nearly buy a pig's head this summer at a local gourmet emporium in Poughkeepsie, NY, but didn't. Then looking up how to make headcheese later I saw that it was very complicated so I was glad I hadn't bought it. Maybe one of these days--I do adore headcheese. Shall I ship you a head next time I run across one?

Love your blog.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05050203291738258265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1512083611874279630.post-87897851044837908262008-08-31T01:43:00.000-07:002008-08-31T01:43:00.000-07:00Ken100, partly thanks to you, but not always in su...Ken

100, partly thanks to you, but not always in such lovely exotic surrounds

Does bear shot out of an apple tree at midnight count as roadkill? No mind, there's always the caribou off the gravel highway between Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Great memories! Especially eating that bear all winter, both canned and frozen, cooked on my green and cream enamel wood cook stove, sometimes with the cherry preserves from the summer before bubbling sweetly for sauce for the stew.

Emilyemilyskitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12044856228232592563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1512083611874279630.post-51897309787658049182008-08-29T16:35:00.000-07:002008-08-29T16:35:00.000-07:00very impressive - I managed 90 but on reflection I...very impressive - I managed 90 but on reflection I may creep up to a 92 since I have eaten clay many times - not all of them even accidental - but I was allowing kaolin to be a SPECIAL kind of clay - and I'm pretty sure that I have eaten epoisses - but frankly when your brilliant/insane parents drag you through France as a small child about eight times and you eat anything and everything put in front of you (including horse steaks) it is not always possible to be 100% certain.

Anyway - I am HIGHLY impressed with your eating. I have actually eaten some of the things you have not. Roadkill isn't actually a big deal really. In my case rabbit that my dad hit (so we knew it was fresh) and deer that my mom hit right in front of a ranger who promptly shot, butchered and arranged for her to pick up a leg a week later.

Get a European to send you a jar of Rose Harrissa - it isn't all that hard to get thtereOwenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657138602451739371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1512083611874279630.post-11540139375910673872008-08-21T12:35:00.000-07:002008-08-21T12:35:00.000-07:00Hi Ken,This survey has been making the rounds on L...Hi Ken,

This survey has been making the rounds on LiveJournal (another blog site) and here's the link to a reasonably entertaining version a friend of mine in Santa Cruz did http://joycie-wilde.livejournal.com/10631.html#cutid1

Donna in San FranciscoJuana Isabella/Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02779126778999795344noreply@blogger.com
